Tecno Pova 7 Pro 5G Expert View

By Shankar Choudhary

Expert Rating

8.5/10

Pros

ultra bright AMOLED display, wireless charging support, strong performance, stereo speakers

Cons

UFS 2.2 storage, limited software updates, average selfie camera

Verdict

Tecno Pova 7 Pro 5G is shaping up to be a feature-packed phone in the mid-range segment. The biggest highlight is its AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and extremely high brightness, making it one of the best displays in this price range. Performance is solid with the Dimensity 7300 Ultimate, suitable for gaming and multitasking. The addition of wireless charging and reverse charging is rare and gives it a big advantage over competitors. However, Tecno still lags in software support, which might be a concern for long-term users. The storage type is also slightly outdated. Overall, it's a great choice for users who want premium features at a lower price.

Questions and Answers

The biggest highlight is the world’s first 30W wireless charging on a 6,000mAh battery in this price segment — a feature previously unseen under ₹20,000. It also has a Delta Light Interface with 104 Mini LED lights around the camera module that reacts to calls, music, gaming, and notifications — similar to Nothing’s Glyph system but more dynamic. Other highlights include a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with 4,500 nits peak brightness, a 64MP Sony IMX682 main camera with 8MP ultrawide, NFC, FreeLink technology for calls without network up to 500 metres, and Ella AI assistant with multilingual support.

The Tecno Pova 7 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate processor, built on a 4nm process, clocked up to 2.5GHz. It’s paired with up to 12GB of RAM and supports up to 8GB of virtual RAM for smooth multitasking and gaming.

Yes, but moderately. The Tecno Pova 7 Pro 5G has an IP64 rating, which protects against dust and water splashes from any direction. The touchscreen also remains responsive with wet or oily hands. However, it is NOT rated for full submersion in water, so avoid taking it into pools or heavy rain for extended periods.
