Apple iPhone 17 Pro Expert View

By Shankar Choudhary

Expert Rating

8.7/10

Best Performance and Camera

Pros

Elite compact flagship, Superb cameras quality, Top tier performance, Premium build finish

Cons

Expensive pricing, Smaller battery size, No fingerprint sensor, Closed ecosystem limits

Verdict

Apple iPhone 17 Pro is for users who want flagship power and premium cameras in a more manageable compact size. It delivers the same A19 Pro performance as the Pro Max, so gaming, editing and multitasking feel extremely smooth. Camera quality is outstanding, especially for video creators who want reliable results with minimal effort. The 120Hz OLED display looks sharp and premium, while iOS offers polished long-term performance and support. Battery life is decent but naturally behind bigger Pro Max models due to the smaller battery. It is also expensive, and some users may miss fingerprint unlock. If you want top-tier iPhone features without going too big, this is an excellent choice.

Questions and Answers

The official price of the base variant (256GB storage) of the Apple iPhone 17 Pro is ₹1,34,900 in India.

On Flipkart, the Apple iPhone 17 Pro (256GB) is available at a discounted price of approximately ₹1,22,900, which can drop further down to ₹1,12,900 when combined with selective bank credit card offers.

It is expensive primarily due to heavy import duties (basic customs duty) levied by the Indian government on imported premium electronics, along with an 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST) and local supply chain margins.

The 40-80 rule is a battery-saving guideline. It suggests keeping your iPhone’s battery charge level between 40% and 80% as much as possible. Avoiding a 100% full charge or dropping below 20% reduces chemical stress and extends the long-term lifespan of the lithium-ion battery.

The iPhone 17 Pro is significantly cheaper in the USA. The base model costs $999 (approx. ₹83,500) in the US before local state taxes, compared to the starting price of ₹1,34,900 in India.
