Verdict

Lava Play Ultra is a strong mid-range option under ₹17K, especially for users who want a smooth AMOLED display and reliable day-to-day performance. The Dimensity 7300 handles gaming and multitasking well, and the display quality is a big plus in this segment. However, it misses out on OIS, and the selfie camera is just average compared to competitors. Charging speed is also not the fastest. Still, with clean Android 15, good battery life, and balanced specs, it is a practical and value-for-money choice for most users.

Yes, it’s an excellent value-for-money phone. It’s one of the very few budget 5G phones with a clean, bloatware-free software experience — a rare highlight.
