POCO C85x Expert View

By Shankar Choudhary

Expert Rating

7.2/10

Pros

Big battery, Smooth display, Large screen, Affordable price

Cons

Weak processor, Slow charging, Average camera, Bulky design

Verdict

POCO C85x is a budget-focused smartphone that mainly targets users who want long battery life and a big display. The 6300mAh battery easily lasts more than a day, which is a major advantage in this price range. The 120Hz display also gives a smoother experience for scrolling and daily use. However, the Unisoc processor is not very powerful, so heavy gaming and multitasking may feel limited. The camera performance is average and charging speed is slow compared to competitors. Overall, it is a good choice for basic users who want battery backup and screen size over performance.

Questions and Answers

The POCO C85x 5G features a 6.9-inch HD+ IPS LCD with 120Hz refresh rate and 810 nits peak brightness, Unisoc T8300 6nm processor, 32MP main camera + 8MP front camera (both 1080p), 6,300mAh battery with 15W charging and 7.5W reverse charging, expandable storage up to 1TB, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, DC Dimming, TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification, HyperOS 3 on Android 16, and comes in three colours. Starts at ₹10,999.

The POCO C85 5G is a reliable budget phone if battery life and a large smooth screen are your priorities. It offers a 120Hz display, long battery endurance, and decent everyday performance. The trade-offs are an HD+ LCD (not sharp), ordinary cameras, and HyperOS software that’s not very beginner-friendly. For basic daily use under ₹15,000, it gets the job done.

The POCO C85x 5G has a 32MP primary rear camera with autofocus and f/2.2 aperture, capable of 1080p video at 30fps. Note: This is lower than the POCO C85 5G, which upgrades to a 50MP main camera — one of the key differences between the two models.

The POCO C85x has a typical brightness of 660 nits and peak High Brightness Mode (HBM) of 810 nits. It’s adequate for indoor use and moderate outdoor visibility, but not the brightest in the segment — rivals like Realme C83 (900 nits) and Samsung F70e (800 nits) perform similarly or better outdoors.
