Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 SE Expert View

By Shankar Choudhary

Expert Rating

8.3/10

Pros

vibrant AMOLED display, OIS camera support, stereo speakers, fast charging

Cons

average performance, UFS 2.2 storage, hybrid SIM slot

Verdict

Redmi Note 14 SE is a well-balanced phone that focuses heavily on display and overall multimedia experience. The AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and high brightness makes it one of the best displays in this price segment. Camera performance is also impressive with OIS support, delivering stable and sharp photos in most conditions. However, performance is decent but not the strongest compared to competitors, especially for heavy gaming users. The use of UFS 2.2 storage also feels slightly outdated. On the positive side, features like stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and a headphone jack make it a great multimedia device. Overall, it's ideal for entertainment-focused users.

Questions and Answers

The Redmi Note 14 SE 5G packs a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2,100 nits peak brightness, MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra processor, 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and 20MP front camera. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, 5,110mAh battery with 45W fast charging, IP64 splash resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, IR blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It runs HyperOS 2.0 on Android 15.

No. The Redmi Note 14 SE does NOT include a charger in the box. You’ll need to buy a 45W fast charger separately, which can cost extra. This is a common complaint about the phone and worth keeping in mind before buying.

The main differences are the processor and software. The Note 14 SE uses the newer Dimensity 7300 Ultra chip, while the standard Note 14 uses Dimensity 7025 Ultra — making the SE slightly faster. The SE ships with Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0, while the Note 14 launched on Android 14. Both share the same 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, 5,110mAh battery with 45W charging, and triple rear camera setup. The Note 14 is available in more RAM/storage variants (up to 8GB+256GB), while the SE comes only in 6GB+128GB. The Note 14 also uses a glass-like premium back finish, while the SE has a textured plastic finish.
